● YUMINASHI EURO-5 SCS DIAGNOSTIC SWITCH (070MZ-001A300R) – USER GUIDE
● The Yuminashi 070MZ-001A300R diagnostic switch is designed to give you complete control over the Keihin ECU ecosystem on Euro-5 Honda models (CRF300L/MOTARD, GROM125, PCX160, ADV160/350, Monkey, Wave, etc.).
Switch Operation:
- ' I ' (ON): Circuit Closed (Equivalent to the tool being plugged in)
- ' O ' (OFF): Circuit Open (Equivalent to the tool being unplugged)
※ Always ensure the ignition key is turned to the OFF position before connecting the red 6-pin diagnostic connector to your motorcycle's wiring harness.
1. Diagnostic Mode (Reading Fault Codes)
When to use it: Use this mode when the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on your dashboard is illuminated or flashing while riding.
This allows the ECU to output a blink code, identifying the specific sensor or circuit experiencing a failure.
● When the connector is turned ON and the ignition is turned ON, the MIL (Check Engine Light) on your dash will begin to blink if there are any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Long blinks: Represent 10s.
- Short blinks: Represent 1s.
- Example: Two long blinks followed by one short blink is Code 21 (O2 Sensor).
Procedure:
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Yuminashi SCS switch to the red 6-pin diagnostic port.
- Toggle the Yuminashi switch to the ' I ' (ON) position.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine).
- Watch the MIL on the dashboard. Count the long flashes (tens) and short flashes (ones) to determine the exact Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
- Once finished, turn the ignition OFF and remove the tool.
2. Clearing Fault Codes (DTC Erase)
When to use it: Use this after a faulty component has been repaired or replaced. Important Proactive Tuning Note: You must perform this step and ensure the ECU is completely free of stored fault codes before attempting an ECU Reset/TPS Initialization. The ECU will block any base parameter resets if a hidden code remains in the memory.
Procedure:
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Yuminashi SCS switch to the diagnostic port.
- Toggle the switch to the ' I ' (ON) position.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON. The MIL will illuminate or begin to blink the stored code.
- Within 5 seconds, toggle the Yuminashi switch to ' O ' (OFF), and then immediately back to ' I ' (ON).
- The MIL will begin to blink with short, continuous flashes. This confirms the ECU memory has been successfully erased.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
3. ECU Base Reset / TPS Initialization
When to use it: This is the most critical step for engine reliability and heat management. You must perform this procedure anytime you change a component that alters the engine's volumetric efficiency or fuel delivery ecosystem. This includes installing a big bore kit, changing camshafts, upgrading to higher-flow fuel injectors (such as the Yuminashi B-Type line), swapping the throttle body, or installing a free-flowing exhaust. This forces the ECU to wipe its old Long-Term Fuel Trims (LTFT) and recalibrate the baseline Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) voltage. Failing to do this can result in a dangerously lean condition, pushing the engine to its thermal limits and risking severe detonation (knock).
Procedure: (Ensure all DTCs are cleared first using Step 2)
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Yuminashi SCS switch and toggle it to the ' I ' (ON) position.
- Open the throttle grip completely to 100% Wide Open Throttle (WOT) and hold it there.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- The MIL will illuminate and then begin blinking rapidly.
- Within 5 seconds of the rapid blinking, completely close the throttle grip.
- The MIL will transition from rapid blinking to a slow, continuous blink. This slow blink confirms the ECU base trims have been wiped and the TPS is initialized.
- Turn the ignition OFF and remove the Yuminashi switch.
- Start the engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes without touching the throttle so the ECU can establish its new baseline idle fuel trims safely.
