● Why is this set essential for your Yuminashi Speed Control Variator?

When tuning for maximum performance, true reliability means running a full "ecosystem simulation" on the engine. Upgrading your variator changes the geometry and behavior of your drive belt, which in turn affects the clearances within your crankcase.

● The YUMINASHI Speed Control Variators (available in 3 different stages) are the fastest variators on the market for the Honda NAVI.

To achieve this higher top speed, each progressive stage pushes the v-belt further up the variator face, increasing the running diameter of the belt.

While this drastically improves top-end speed, it creates a crucial clearance issue inside the stock Honda NAVI engine case: As the belt rises to its maximum height, it comes dangerously close to rubbing against the starter motor assembly located directly behind the primary drive. Continuous friction against the starter motor will rapidly fray and destroy your v-belt, leading to an inevitable and dangerous belt snap at high speeds.

To proactively solve this clearance issue and ensure absolute drivetrain reliability, we engineered this Variator Spacer Set to work in perfect synchronization with our high-performance variators.

The Yuminashi Crankshaft Spacer Washer: This precision spacer must be installed on the crankshaft first, directly behind the variator assembly. This pushes the entire variator slightly forward (outward), providing the vital clearance your v-belt needs to achieve maximum travel without ever touching the starter motor.
The Yuminashi Offset Kickstarter Ratchet: Because the spacer shifts the variator forward, the stock Honda kickstarter ratchet is now too thick. If you attempt to use the stock ratchet, there will not be enough thread left on the crankshaft to safely torque the main nut down. To solve this, we developed a specialized, thinner "Offset Kickstarter Ratchet." This custom profile ensures your kickstarter remains fully functional while guaranteeing the crankshaft nut has complete thread engagement for a safe, secure lock.

● Installation Order:

Install the Yuminashi Spacer Washer onto the crankshaft.
Install the Yuminashi Speed Control Variator assembly.
Replace the thick stock ratchet with the thinner Yuminashi Offset Kickstarter Ratchet.
Securely torque the crankshaft nut.
